As a WIOA Title II program, ensuring productive and vibrant partnerships among community and career-centered agencies is a crucial component of serving our community. Moving to virtual and on-line deliveries and interactions, reduced funding, duplicated efforts resulting from serving same and similar populations and overlapping services, along with the continued addition of duties and tasks to already overworked providers have created challenges to ensuring effective service. We struggle to provide resources to clients and participants with multiple barriers to education and employment.
This presentation will share a model highlighting initiatives, strategies and activities developed and employed in the Rivers East Workforce Development Region through partnership between the Transitional Studies Department of Pitt Community College and NENC Career Pathways. We are working to continue to provide services to our community as effectively as possible, guiding participants and clients to access necessary resources for achieving career and training goals.

“COVID happened; Now innovate like an Entrepreneur” Effectual Logic is a platform supporting education/training leaders in times of uncertainty. Developed to overcome financial hardships in the growth and development of businesses operating in specific market uncertainties, this same process can be applied in educational institutions with powerful outcomes. COVID-19 has unveiled our need to infuse accelerated processes to address remote assets management, online monitoring of educational processes, value delivery models, innovative work-based strategies for learning, and more. This session will provide a systematic process to progressively leverage a platform of assets specific to your institution’s needs. This process has interdisciplinary applications allowing for flexibility based on demographics and industry corridors useful as institutions make the digital transformation journey accelerated by COVID. Business and industry are not returning to business as normal, and neither can academia. The future of financial continued success belongs to those institutions whose leaders have a method for managing uncertainty and innovating rapidly. As an added benefit, participants will hear from the CEO of Zealoton as he describes the tool educational institutions need which accelerates the assessment of the type of supports needed for distance learners in an online platform. Utilizing this tool can optimize student enrollment and retention expanding the institution’s market base, by identifying up front the student’s distance learning acumen and what supports are needed for success for that particular learner.

In this session you will learn the story of the resurrection of the USF Continuing Education Unit; 6 years ago, the USF unit was about to be closed for good and now it is a multi-million-dollar revenue and profit machine. Through this story you will learn the 5 key pillars that the USF team used to turn around the CE Unit and here is the best part you can use these strategies too. Nothing they did at USF cannot be done at your school. The session will be led by Mark Koulianos, the Executive Director for the USF Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education and his guest will be Kathy Barnes an Associate Director at USF who was there before the transformation and now after. Kathy will be able to give you a unique perspective of before and after and how the changes suggested by Mark work in practice.
