Feet on the Ground - NCCET North American Regions

This NEW Regional Infrastructure is a Strategic NCCET Response Going Forward

Why Regions?

We have introduced eleven new NCCET Regions across North America. The primary purpose of these regions is to identify the continuing education and training needs of the member schools within that region and elevate those needs to a national stage.  Similarly, we wish to recognize the most successful solutions to those needs and the requisite factors critical to their success.   By also elevating these to the national discussion, NCCET members will have immediate and responsive access to new ideas and proven alternatives that they might never have considered otherwise.

In some regions we wish to join in the conversations that are already underway.   In other regions we wish to create conversations that have not yet gathered headway.  Each region will have state designated areas.   What works for one area might not work in an adjacent area… and so our infrastructure must be sensitive to that and structured only to share information and programs as needed.

The Regional Infrastructure

Within each region, NCCET will have a Regional Director who will be charged with growing the value and usefulness of NCCET to the member schools within that region.  Each Regional Director will have a direct link to the National Council for Continuing Education and Training nationwide as the inbound recipient of solutions from across the nation… and as the outbound provider of solutions from within that region.  To this, each Regional Director will have appointed an Area Manager for the states and geographies within that region.  The Area Managers must be dynamic conversationalists plugged into the inner workings of their schools and communities.  They must be outstanding listeners and people trusted to convey key messages that may affect the very survival of a college institution.

Just Announced

We are extremely pleased to announce the very first NCCET Regional Director anywhere.   Connor O’Sullivan, Executive Director, Career and Technical Education, from the Lone Star College-System Office, The Woodlands, has just accepted the new role of Regional Director of Region 1.   This is the South Central Region including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma as indicated below.  As our first Regional Director, NCCET will be working closely with Connor to provide structure and guidelines for those soon to be announced.   Join us in congratulating Connor on this milestone achievement.
