One of the original founding members of Growth Development Associates, Inc., Ed is the author of GDA’s Consultative Selling curriculum that serves as foundation of NCCET’s certified sales training program. Ed has provided instructor training services, conference implementation services, management training, strategic planning and consulting services to GDA clients on 5 different continents and in numerous countries around the world. A graduate of Hampton Institute, now Hampton University, Ed has held sales, sales management and corporate management positions in IBM, and the Digital Equipment Corporation, prior to joining Eric Richardson in forming GDA.
Now serving as the Executive Director of NCCET, Ed is truly excited to have the opportunity to develop creative new programs and infrastructure in promoting Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Soon to be a grandfather for the second time, he is revisiting personal competencies from many years back, when he wrote and illustrated children’s books in his spare time.

Region 1: Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma
Connor O’Sullivan is the Executive Director of Career and Technical Education for the Lone Star College System in Houston, TX. His department focuses on fast-track non-credit workforce courses across Lone Star’s seven campuses, as well as english as a second language, highschool equivalency, leisure learning for seniors 50 and up, and summer youth camps. He is a native of The Woodlands, TX and graduated from Texas A&M University before embarking on a seven year career as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He is married to Morgan O’Sullivan and the proud father of two girls, Mikaela and Ellie.
Monica Johnston has spent the last 23 years focused on education and preparing students to enter and succeed in the workplace. She is currently the Executive Director of Continuing Education at Metropolitan Community College. In that role, Monica oversees Workforce Development, Community Education and Professional Development training across the five-campus college.

Monica has lived in the Kansas City area since 1992 and began her career at MCC over 22 years ago as Computer Science faculty. She had the opportunity to develop an intensive Computer Support Technician program for dislocated workers that prepared individuals for entry-level employment in computer support. Through this work, Monica learned the importance of designing comprehensive career pathways that meet students where they are in the lifelong learning process.
Monica has been the Faculty Coordinator, Director and Executive Director of Continuing Education for over 15 years and appreciates the opportunity to serve students who are entering, re-entering or advancing in the workplace. She feels that it is a unique privilege to work with the staff and faculty that support the MCC mission of Preparing students, serving communities, creating opportunities.
Kristin was born and raised in Clayton, North Carolina. She began her education preparation at Johnston Community College and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Fayetteville State University. Kristin, attended Webster University and obtained two Masters in Counseling and Human Resource Development. She completed her educational preparation at Nova Southeastern University and obtained a dual doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education and Organizational Leadership. Kristin, has 19 years of service in higher education. She spent 13 of those years at Fayetteville Technical Community College in various roles under the workforce and continuing education umbrella. The past six years she has worked at Pitt Community College as Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development and currently serves as the Dean of Off-Campus Programs and Evening/Weekend College.
